After a couple of days spent darning in ends when time allowed, Pixie Rainbow has officially become a sweater.
Kate Buller's book (Style Your Own Kids' Knits) is fun and gives lots of scope for adding personal touches and preferences. Pixie Rainbow is knit in the 5-6 year old size and it's definitely on the large side - very wide neckline and loose-fitting body. All of the patterns use Rowan Handknit Cotton DK which I like very much - not least because it knits up pretty quickly! The children like it too, as it's so soft to the skin.
This project was a joint one with my youngest daughter who particularly wanted the heart and the 'pixie' wording - my first go at intarsia!
*Thanks to Emma for the stripe tips - shall certainly try it out on the next stripey project!
That's so pretty. You're both very clever to design such a fab jumper ! :0)
