I'm seeing spots

Whilst rooting through my knitting bag, I came across my lovely sugar pink cotton that I'd cast for a little bag. I didn't like the way the bag was turning out, so I frogged it and put the yarn to a better use:

It's the Big Spot Slipover from Miss Bea's Colours. I thought the textural quality of the pattern would make it a fun item for my youngest and, luckily, she approves! I think a good blocking will improve the appearance. I like the Miss Bea patterns very much at the moment, in fact, I have two Miss Bea projects on the needles at the moment. The other is the Jingle Jangle sweater from Miss Bea's Band. Better get on with this one, as I noticed that my little band member has shot up over the summer. Here's a picture of the (very curly) back:

I finished a Noro sock and quickly cast on for the next one. Looks like the stripes will match up as well. I showed the sock to my mother this weekend and she asked was it for wearing under wellies? Also, she said had I seen the price of sock yarn and wasn't it outrageous considering you then had to knit the socks yourself - a ready-made pair was only a fraction of the cost!

Note to self: do not knit Mother socks for Christmas.

In Knitting Library expansion news, I picked up a copy of the new Rowan Vintage Style. Lots of lovely designs, I particularly like Aimee, a little number in Kidsilk Haze, can't stop knitting with the stuff...

Also, I bought a copy of Twilleys of Stamford Denim Freedom Book Two. I thought the cover design, Danielle, very pretty. (The yarn shop lady said that Twilleys' Denim yarn was the exact same stuff as Rowan's, just with a different label - and a different price, wonder if it's true?)

I think your socks are gorgeous - it would be criminal to waste them under wellies !

Aimee is lovely too and should suit you really well. Go for it ! (Yeah, like you really needed any encouragement !)

The Slipover and Sweater are coming along nicely. I like Jingle Jangle's raised border. Can't tell you about the Denim yarn, but if what the yarn shop lady said is true, it may be that they're both manufactured at the same place, and the Twilley's is the excess yarn. Pretty patterns, too.
