Dear Reader,
The Champagne Bohemian cannot come to the blog herself today. She is still suffering the after-effects of having to rip out large chunks of her knitting which would preclude her from taking part in any valuable knitting discussion.
The situation sadly arose when she started the right front of her Butterfly cardigan without reading the pattern, instead relying on her (rather poor) memory of the left hand side already completed. Obviously certain errors occurred which could not go uncorrected but it did take her several inches of knitting to realise that the right hand front should actually be different to the left hand front.
She has apologised to the Kureyon and will treat it better in the future. You will be glad to know that she did cast on again for the right hand side and is currently knitting with the greatest care and attention to the pattern.
Yours on behalf of the Champagne Bohemian.
Posted by Anita at October 15, 2004 05:30 PMPlease inform the Champagne Bohemian that I feel for her. And that, after making a mistake like that in the past, I usually knit both fronts at the same time (also sleeves). Since this change of tactics everything goes better. Oh, and wish her a happy weekend.
Karin
oh, tell CB i wish her much luck on the other side. from someone who has done the same thing more than once.
Posted by: froggy at October 15, 2004 11:57 PMJust think of it as bonus knitting time with the lovely Kureyon !
Have a great,knitterly weekend. ;-]
Hi Anita, I am sorry to hear the mistake. But, it happens to most of knitters ! I did the same thing as you on a cable cardigan before!! I just used the chance to correct all the small mistake makde in the first piece. The second piece surely will be better than the 1st one.
Happy knitting !
Eva
Posted by: Eva Shiu at October 17, 2004 09:51 AMOh bum ! .... as my 9 year old would say in moments of great stress. Never mind, the second right side will be all the more accomplished for having had the extra practice.
