I.E.C.S.S.A.T.W...

If Ellen can sail solo around the world......then I can finish Butterfly.

If Ellen can sail solo around the world....I can knit the matching glove for Natalya.

If Ellen can sail solo around the world....then I can do anything.

We watched Ellen's arrival at Falmouth this week - what an achievement! Everybody was so pleased to see her and she didn't disappoint. She sailed that fragile looking craft into the harbour and then leapt ashore and spoke so coherently with the crowd and reporters - what a role model. I can't even begin to imagine how she coped with such a harrowing journey and with such speed!

What a gal!

I'm afraid that my knitting achievements fall woefully short of Ellen's this week (can she knit too, I wonder?). I've worked a little on the husband's ribbed hat (working up enough length so that it doesn't pop off his head if he wiggles his ears....don't laugh....it's happened before....).

I bought some Debbie Bliss Maya a couple of weeks ago and am in the process of turning it into a scarf . I think it was Heather who linked to this cute scarf pattern from the October 26 entry for Sheep In the City

Excellent stitch pattern - so textural

I'm really hoping to seam up Butterfly tonight. I'm going to the theatre on Saturday and I would so love to be able to wear it. If Ellen can sail solo around the world.....

I think Ellen can do just about anything! Did you see her with the drill the other day? Bet she knits, there's alot of skill in that rope tying. She'd have to sew, (holes in sails) AND she gets by on twenty minutes sleep every four hours or so. I think I need to adopt that strategy, perhaps I'd get more knitting done!

I am really looking forward to seeing your finished Butterfly. It's going to look gorgeous on you.I'm plugging away at mine - remember that I have twice as much to knit, being twice your size !
Ellen is an incredible young woman, but very driven.I think I'd prefer my life ! Not least because I get sea sick. :0)

If Ellen can sail solo around the world you'd think we'd all be able to do anythign wouldn't you? I'd love to be able to go a whole day without feeling stressed out with kids at the moment, if Ellen can sail solo around the world surely I can keep my patience just for a few hours. Do you think?

Ellen is a determined young woman. Go, Ellen! Show the men that women can do it too. I've seen the scarf floating around other blogs as well, really pretty, Anita.

So what did the family end up naming the sheep?

Can you tell us what Debbie Bliss Maya colorway you are using on "My So Called Scarf"? It's beautiful!
You might also want to make the matching hat which is a free pattern at http://creazativity.typepad.com/photos/free_patterns/film_grain_shot2.html
I've just finished making both but now want to make it again with what you are using. It's a lovely color.
