No new knitting pictures today as I have been taken out to lunch to celebrate my birthday but imagine me later - knitting in hand, glass of ginger beer nearby, watching this birthday present:

This adaptation of K M Peyton's Flambards trilogy was made in 1979. I remember watching it avidly when it was televised originally. The books have long been favourites of mine and I have enjoyed passing on my dog-eared copies to my daughter who in turn has shared them with her friends. Timeless stuff.
Imagine, also, my delight when I discovered that book number four was published a while ago. Did it all really end happily ever after??!
Happy Birthday!
Posted by: A Homely Heroine at February 20, 2008 10:35 PMHello
I was 14 when this was broadcast and was totally obsessed with it. Bought the LP soundtrack and played it every night. My sisters thought I was crazy. So glad you highlighted it, I immediately ordered the DVD and 4th book which I was unaware of. My 14yr old daughter has enjoyed reading my old copies of the original trilogy too.
Thank you
Claire

I was 13 when Flambards came out. I loved it too :0)

Posted by: Heather at February 22, 2008 10:59 AMOh yes, I remember Flambards. Great. I am just working my way through The House of Elliot. Also great. Not much knitwear in the Elliot sisters wardrobes though.
Enjoy your birthday
