96 stitches, part two

96 stitches cast on for the Owls sweater published at needled. A jolly red sweater to liven up the dull grey days. I chose the yarn on colour alone from a little out of the way wool shop near the builders merchants (we visit the builders merchants quite a lot at the moment - home renovation is a looooong proccess). It was a super fast knit - big needles, chunky wool and a fabulously simple bottom-up construction.

I haven't added any buttons for the eyes of the owls as yet. Not sure if I will on this one (I'd really like to knit another for one of my daughters) as I'm rather used to the textural look of the owls as they are. I'm a little ambivalent about the extra embellishment.

There's a lovely little bit of shaping at the back waist. If I knit another, I'd probably put a little bit of shaping at the front as well because it is so flattering.

Lovely! The colour reminds me of tulips. Just right for this time of year.

Red! Just the colour for this time of year. It's a lovely jumper, I've been watching them pop up on ravelry. I'm resisting, must get my queue down!
