still eating curds and whey

The Miss Muffet cardigan is coming along slowly - sleeves just seem to take forever, don't they? Although it's probably the best place to knit just a little bit longer as it's the first area to show that it's been outgrown. This is a super easy pattern, all knit from the top down so absolute minimal finishing (no seaming at all - lovely).

It's necessary to put the body stitches on a holder whilst the sleeves are knit. I struggle with placing the stitches on waste yarn because some of the stitches can be hard to pick up and it's a little faffy to actually do. This scooby string worked an absolute treat though. And it's easy to tie in a knot and undo when needed. So it's not exactly re-cycling but it is at least re-using which is still pretty good.

I want to get this one finished before my sister's wedding which is at the end of May. She's having a church wedding and they're pretty chilly places in my (limited) experience. This will be perfect as a little bridesmaid's cover-up. I'm on the lookout for some diamond or pearl buttons to finish it off.

It's looking lovely. Another advantage to knitting sleeves top down is that you can add to the length, if the cardigan looks likes it's going to last a few years.

It's lovely. I'm with Geraldine on the top-down advantages re: sleeves. Hope you find some yummy pearl buttons to finish it off.
