Water, water, everywhere...

Made the usual quick check of beacons this morning 1000 utc and suddenly found CU8DUB was 599 on tropo from HM49kl 2350km.

CU8DUB 144.420MHz Tropo in 2.3kHz

and a later recording ...

1214 UTC CU8DUB 144420MHz in 100Hz

Tried phoning, e-mailing, cluster announcements no stations from CU at all.

Just a beacon in the midst of all that water..............

Finally CU8AO got a message and raced home to be QRV:

1131 144300 CU8AO 53 55 HM49 2350km Tnx!!

Hi Tim, listening to you briefly on 144.300 last night, vertical mobile whip on mag., outside home Beacon Park in Plymouth. Great site and really gives something to aim at. Quite fancy some VHF DX so looks like the next project! 73 de Rob 2E0RZD
